Morningside to Elect New Board of Directors in May

Springtime in Morningside means daffodils, warmer weather, and the Morningside Community Organization board elections.

This year nominations for the MCO Board of Directors will be held on Tuesday, April 14 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church at 11475 E. Outer Dr. across from Ronald Brown Academy. Nominations are also open just before the election is run at the May general meeting on Tuesday, May 12 (same time and place).

Officers serve two-year terms with staggered elections and may serve no more than two consecutive terms in the same office. This year the positions of 1 Vice-President and Treasurer are open. At-large board members serve one-year terms, with openings for as many as six members.

To be eligible to vote, you must have attended at least three meetings in the previous twelve months.

A community organization is only as strong as its leadership, so it’s important to have as many residents as possible choosing those leaders. Please make your voice heard!
