NPO Karen Maxey Retires

Neighborhood Police Officer Karen Maxey has been a familiar and friendly face to Morningsiders for many years. After 28 years of service to the Detroit Police Department, Officer Maxey was given a fine send-off on August 13 at the AB Ford Park Community Center.

Lieutenant Mark Young, President of the Detroit Police Lieutenants and Sergeants Association described her as displaying “commitment, courage, dedication, determination, integrity, and professionalism” throughout her career.

We’ll miss Karen Maxey, but we wish her a welldeserved rest and all the fun and adventure that retirement can bring.
