Thank you for the opportunity to provide an update on Cash Only Bistro for the Morningside Community. My husband and I are excited to bring this new restaurant and community centered concept to the neighborhood we call home.

Cash Only Bistro will be located at 16215 E. Warren Avenue in Detroit, the former McGuire Cleaners property. Our website is www.cashonlybistro.com.

After purchasing the building, we completed both a Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment. Based on the environmental evaluation, the recommended work for the property includes the installation of a vapor intrusion mitigation system. We are moving forward with that work as part of preparing the building for redevelopment and restaurant operations.

Cash Only Bistro will be a build your own pasta bistro and bar built around the theme of “Food, Education, Prosperity.” Guests will be able to create their own pasta dishes by selecting their pasta, sauce, protein, and other additions. Our menu will also include items such as wings, pizza, lasagna, soups, and other dishes.

However, we want Cash Only Bistro to be more than a restaurant.

One of the most important parts of the concept is our Cash Only Capital Club, which will provide business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, and community members with access to financial and business education. Through the club, we plan to offer workshops, webinars, networking opportunities, business resources, funding and grant information, and conversations about topics such as credit, taxes, business development, entrepreneurship, and wealth building. The idea behind Cash Only Bistro is to create a place where people can enjoy great food while also having access to information and relationships that can help them financially and professionally.

This project is especially meaningful to us because we are part of the Morningside community ourselves. My husband and I live in Morningside, and I also grew up in this community. Being able to invest in the neighborhood where I was raised and where we currently live makes this project much more personal than simply opening another business.

Professionally, I am an Enrolled Agent and the owner of ADH Financial Services. I previously spent approximately 10 years working for the Internal Revenue Service as a Revenue Officer. My background also includes banking, accounting, taxation, business development, real estate, and hospitality. I hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Wayne State University and a master's degree in Taxation from Walsh College.

My husband and I are cofounders of Cash Only Bistro, and our goal is to create a business that contributes to the continued revitalization of the East Warren corridor while also creating a welcoming gathering place for residents of Morningside and the surrounding communities.
