Deer in Morningside?? No Kidding.

Gaston and Charon Nogues moved from Los Angeles into a Land Bank house on the corner of Nottingham and Cornwall a few years ago and brought with them a vision of the surrounding vacant lots as cultivated gardens and a community gathering space.

They’ve been slowly realizing that vision over the past five years. It has proven to be popular, not just with their neighbors, but with forest creatures as well. Who’d have guessed it?

“I have to get a deer crossing sign now,” says Gaston. “We have four showing up for the corn now, the word must be getting out.”
