A Wonderful Evening at The Alger Theater
I have been asked to say a few things about Light Up The Tree Event held at the Alger Theater on November 30th.
My first impressions were that I couldn’t help revel in the hunger and desire from the attendees to have community events. It was obvious that there was good time to be had just by being in a community space in each other’s company. It’s may sound trite, but it how I define “the holiday spirit”, whatever one’s holiday may be. The immediate follow-up impression is that once each individual realized that the Alger is their own community asset, a sense of pride came over their faces, and possibilities were all you could read in their eyes. This is simply magical.
The cooperation that went into putting this event on cannot be ignored. Thank you to East English Village, Morningside, and Cornerstone communities for your support and participation. A special “shout out” to Greg Stolarski, whose Hudson Bears and special energy were crucial in pulling this off. Also, I. would like to bring to everyone’s attention that this event was supported and attended by your MI State Rep, Veronica Piaz, and your District 4 Councilperson, Latisha Johnson, who was also responsible for purchasing the tree itself.
I’m going to make this short because this is where I strongly believe pictures say it all, but I want to finish by saying if your local and state reps attended it means your neighborhood is important to them and is on the radar!
Thanks all for coming out and sharing bears, cocoa, music, tours, popcorn, and friendship.
