Morningside Kids Celebrate a New School Year

We just had our back-to-school bash on August 28, which was great!

Thanks to the generosity of Baby 2 Baby, we were able to give out book bags to everyone. The kids also enjoyed “walking tacos,” which are tacos served inside a chip bag so they’re a portable snack.

In addition to a friendly sidewalk chalk art competition, the kids made “time capsules” for the first day of school. They measured their length with a piece of string, weighed themselves, traced their hand/foot, wrote a bit about themselves and put it all in a Ziploc bag to take out on the last day of school and compare, to see how much has changed over the course of the year.

Our next community dinner will be Thursday, September 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome!
