Give A Smile, Get A Smile: Frances Lewis

There are many untold stories of Black Detroiters who once lived in the thriving community of Black Bottom. Many of those stories were erased from history just as the community that was cleared to install Interstate 375.

However, at 87-years young, Detroiter, Frances Lewis is preparing to publish her memoir “Frances Is,” which will detail her experience living in the once home to many Black-owned businesses and so much more.

This is a story you should definitely read during Black History Month.
