Thanks to visual artist Mila Lynn, the E. Warren business corridor now has another powerful mural. This one livens up the corner at E. Warren and Audubon as part of her District 4 “Eastside Love Letters” series.
Here’s what Mila says about it: “Originally this mural was going to be named the ‘Morningside Love Letter,’ but after it came to fruition, I decided it would only be right to name it ‘Just An Eastside Girlie.’ This mural was meant to capture the youthfulness of Morningside -- from the child-like handwriting, to the Barbie inspired stickers, to the puffy-fluffy clouds.
“The sticky note was written by my neighbor’s daughter who was the first person to welcome us to Morningside. Reaching out to the note is her cat, and if you know anything about this neighborhood, there are cats everywhere!
It was a joy painting this piece for the block, and I’m excited for all the people who live and visit E Warren to smile at or take pictures in front of our new unofficial welcome sign.”
Thanks to Mila for contributing to our eastside Renaissance! If you want to follow all the other cool projects Mila has going, check out “mindofmila” on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
