Big Geothermal Project on Warren Avenue

The East Warren Development Corp.'s new Public Market building will be powered by clean, renewable geothermal energy from deep underground. A crew from Crabtree Drilling is spending several weeks drilling fifteen 500-foot deep wells next to the new building. At that depth, the temperature is constant, about 55 degrees year round. Water flowing through pipes in these wells will heat the building in winter and cool it in summer. Once the system is built, heating and cooling costs will be low because it will require minimal external power.
